Serious Vulnerability in the Whatsapp Desktop Version

If you’re running Whatsapp on your phone you may (or may not) be aware that Facebook – which owns Whatsapp – is spying on you, all day, every day.

But as if that isn’t bad enough, the Desktop version of Whatsapp allows some dangerous files though its “malicious scripts” filters, thus exposing its users to the threat of intrusions and viruses, if they open the files in question. Worse still, this vulnerability has been reported to Meta, Facebook’s parent company, which chose to declare the matter to be a “non-issue” and chose not to take any action.

This stance alone raises serious questions about the corporation’s views and intentions towards protecting its users against malicious software and bad actors.
